Illustrations of Facial Paralysis

This set of watercolour illustrations was painted by Dublin-based medical illustrator Marsella Irwin in the 1850s.They depict individuals suffering from partial facial paralysis as a result of affected facial nerves. On the back of each portrait there is handwritten description of the condition and circumstances of the patient.
